Incentive Plan Programs

     Incentive Program

The objective of a Preventive Care Incentive Program is to encourage participation in an annual preventive care program and maintain regular participation to positively impact modifiable behaviors and provide the opportunity to intervene on identified risks. HealthDynamics has extensive experience developing new incentive programs and working with existing incentive programs in a fully integrated, collaborative manner. We are often asked for the guidance regarding various aspects of incentive program design and look forward to the opportunity to join forces with organizations as a partner in a current program or implement new strategies.

      A. Which Incentive Plan Program will increase participation and therefore reduce long-term health care costs?

        1. Reduction of deductible and co-pay amounts
        2. Progressive reduction of deductible and out-of-pocket co-pay
        3. Reduction in employee monthly contribution to health insurance plan
        4. Cash rewards
        5. Debit cards for retail purchases or fuel
        6. Paid time off of work for exam participation

      B. Recommended Incentive Guidelines

        1. The behavioral goals of incentive programs need to be clearly identified.
        2. The more highly valued the potential reward, the stronger the incentive effect.
        3. The higher the perceived probability or feasibility of receiving the reward, the stronger the incentive effect.
        4. Incentive programs that incorporate reminders and utilize several communication methods work better than those that do not.
        5. Care should be taken to avoid unintended artifacts.
        6. The simpler the basic incentive rules, the stronger the incentive effect.
        7. Past group experience with incentives will shape future incentive performance.

Critical information can be gathered at the individual and group level with proper implementation of a Health Dynamics Preventive Care Program when linked with a Wellness Incentive Program. This valuable information can then be used to create individual health status awareness, life saving and expense-reducing behavior changes. For more information on the Health Dynamics Program and Incentive Program integration, please click Contact Us
