    HealthDynamics has tabulated the impact of health status changes measured across our participant population - and the results are in!
     

    Group Results

    • Since 1987, 79% of HealthDynamics repeating participants have reduced their overall modifiable health risk factors from year to year
    • From January 2002 to January 2003, 92% of HealthDynamics repeating participants showed measurable improvements in their modifiable health risk factors

    Obesity

    • The Dept. of Health and Human Services research on claims data indicates that individuals with the health risk factor of obesity spend approximately $700 more per year than those with body composition in a healthy range
    • 40% of HealthDynamics participants that are overweight actually decrease their body fat percentage prior to their next annual exam, significantly reducing their health risk status
    • Typically 53% of participants evaluated are rated as borderline obese or obese

    Blood Pressure

    • Blood Pressure medications cost approximately $500/person/year
    • 43% of HealthDynamics participants with elevated blood pressure risk reduce their blood pressure to a lower risk status within one year through dietary changes and exercise or improved compliance with medication use

    Diabetes

    • Typically, 12% of HealthDynamics participants have elevated blood sugar levels, indicating increased risk of diabetes complications
    • 29% of HealthDynamics participants improve diabetes risk status prior to their next annual exam
    • On average, 26% of HealthDynamics participants have diabetes risk levels that are borderline and 7% are rated high risk

    Cardiovascular Disease

    • 46% of HealthDynamics participants “at risk” reduce risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease from year to year
    • 34% of participants are typically deemed high risk and 22% meet moderate-high risk standards
    • 44% of HealthDynamics participants required follow up due to lipid profile indicators and 9% required follow up based on EKG results

    Tobacco Use

    • 30% of program participants that reported using tobacco quit within one year after their examination and consult

    Workers Compensation/Orthopedic Injury

    • 36% of HealthDynamics participants significantly improve orthopedic status with increased flexibility or strength prior to their annual exam

    Cancer Detection

    • 10% of HealthDynamics participants warrant follow up for cancer risks
